Overview
The primary feedback from clients is that their customers face difficulty providing accurate details of their space due to a lack of confidence in measuring their existing rooms. Additionally, 3D Cloud has identified a gap in the market for customers seeking to simply add to or extend their current kitchen or bathroom.
The task
Develop an AI-powered image scanner that enables customers to upload an image of their existing space, allowing the AI to accurately detect its dimensions based on the objects present in the image.
My Approach
Building upon our existing AI Assistant, we began feeding it images and training it to accurately identify objects within a room. Once the AI recognized an object, it would perform checks to determine the object's name, size, and style. Similar to the AI Assistant, we needed to provide the new AI with thousands of sample images to enable it to accurately detect and process a complete room of products, using this data to calculate the room’s dimensions.
Once the AI's performance met our expectations, the development team was tasked with integrating the output to generate a 3D representation of the space. Meanwhile, my team focused on designing the user interface, enabling features for image upload and deletion, tracking scan progress and results, displaying detected product details, and facilitating the transfer of the scanned room to the 3D Planner.
